Masculine Birthday Card - Golfer

Hi - this is the second card I designed for the card party.  I always like to include something masculine, otherwise I would probably put flowers on everything!  I used a Cloud 9 Designs background stamp I got on clearance at Joann's for the houndstooth background.  I can see why it was on clearance, the quality of the stamp is not very good and it was difficult to get a good image out of it, but for the way it was used I didn't need it to be super crisp.  The golf stamp is from an old See Dee's set called Father's Day that I have had for years.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up, I love their stamps!  Other than that I just card stock from my stash and a button and some twine.  I got some cool acrylic shapes a while back at Pat Catan's that came in different sizes.  They are very thin and they are for tearing out the shape, I used it for the cream behind the image.  I also inked all of the edges using Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip.

I posted this card on the following:

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes + Kraft

  1. This is a great card for a man! I like the clean look of it, as well as the details of the torn paper and the button. The colors work really well too, gives your card a bit of a vintage feel. I spotted your card on MIM.

  2. Great male card! Thanks for playing at MIM.
