Happy Monday! Here is another easel card I made this weekend. I stamped the butterfly with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I used this really cool double sided tape I got at the Scrapbook Expo in Columbus this past March and added glitter over the whole image. The tape works amazingly well, the glitter doesn't even come off on your fingers if you rub over it. After I glittered it I re-colored it a bit to make the colors a bit more vibrant. I used Marvy punches for all of the scalloped circles. The flowers were all made using the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge - I am very pleased with how small I was able to cut these out and still have them look great. The smallest ones were cut at 1 1/4" and they cut perfectly. The green patterned paper is from the DCWV Lemon Flower stack and the pink is Core'dinations cardstock embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder and sanded. My 5 year old daughter enjoyed helping with the sanding! The Happy Birthday on the front is a Studio G stamp I have had forever. The sentiment on the bottom is computer generated.
Hi - here is a layout I did of my little Spencer on the day he was born. I wanted it to have sort of a bold graphic look. I sort of started with the ribbon and chose the colors from it. I used the treading water Fiskar's punch to punch the border that the ribbon is threaded through. Then I cut the little heart clip from the Fabulous Finds Cricut Cartridge using foil tape on scrap cardstock, then I embossed it with my Cuttlebug using the mosaic folder. The large heart was cut using Accent Essentials at 9.5". I felt like the border was too heavy so I stamped the little hearts all over it with pearl acrylic paint. Little One and the little feet are cut from New Arrival and the scalloped strip in the background is from Plantin Schoolbook.
I think that Flower Shoppe is one of my all time favorite cartridges! I really enjoy playing with the different cuts on it. I made the flower for this card by layering several cuts - pretty much like they show you in the handbook. I did use a large stylus to give the petals some dimension and I also inked everything with black ink. The papers I used are all from the DCWV Lemon Flowers Stack - I love this stack! I also used the Tim Holtz Distress tool around all of the edges of the patterned paper. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and the flower center is We R Memory Keepers set with the Big Bite. The bling is from Way2Scrap. For this card I used a sketch from the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge - I have never used a sketch before, it was fun!
Hello - here is a birthday card I made using another cute image from Tiddly Inks. I colored the image with Copic Markers. The patterned paper is from the DCWV Doodling Around stack. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the black card stock in the background with the Divine Swirls embossing folder, then I used Adirondack paint dauber in pearl to emphasize the embossing. I inked around the image and the strip that the bow is on using Old Paper Distress Ink. The bow is made with seam binding that I died with Fired Brick Distress Ink. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Studio G and the black pearls are from Queen & Co.
Hi! Here is a layout I made using one of my favorite pictures of my girls. I used DCWV Doodling Around papers - I love the colors! I wanted to make the layout work with the flowers going up the side of the paper without covering them up. I used seam binding dyed with Fired Brick Distress Ink for the bow. The little flower on it is from the George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge - 4 layers cut at 3/4". The red shape in the background is from Winter Woodland at 6" - I also used that shape for the title. I used my Gypsy to weld the shadow for 'my' to the shape, I did squish the shape to it wouldn't be as tall. My is cut from Cursive 101 at 1" and Girls is cut from Opposites Attract, also at 1". The flower on the title is cut from Flower Shop - it's the ruffled flower - cut at 2 1/4". I totally love this rolled flower and it is fairly low profile so it works well for scrapbook pages. I used an EK Success border punch on the brown strip behind the pictures and added a little bling to both of the flowers.
Here is a close-up of the seam binding bow and flower made from George cuts.
Hello! Here is a simple card that I made using the Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge. I cut the cake at 5". All of the papers I used were scraps so I am not sure who the manufacturer is. The black pearls are from Queen & Co. and I added a touch of Stickles to the flame. I also inked the edges of everything with Vintage Paper Distress Ink and the card base with Black Soot Distress Ink.
