Distressed Owl Card

Hello!  Here is another card that I am doing for a card workshop I am hosting next week - I did it in two totally different color ways to see how different it would look. 
  • The Scalloped circle is cut from Once Upon a Princess - the inside one is 3 1/4" and the larger one is 3 1/2" - I like this scalloped circle because it's not perfect, the scallops are different sizes so it looks a little more organic.
  • The owl stamp is Studio G -  I stamped it first, then stamped and embossed the dots over the owl - then I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to ink pretty heavily over the embossing, I love the way the embossed areas resist the ink.
  • The background is embossed using my Cuttlebug and then inked.  Add a little ribbon and that's about it, it's a pretty simple card to make.  I am trying to keep them fairly simple because we are making 20 cards for the workshop and I don't want to overwhelm anyone with too many steps.

  8. Hi I love owls, there is something cute and innocent in their large eyes. Love the first colour way. I too really enjoy mixing Tim Holtz inks and cuttlebug embossing folders. linked to yu from MIM.
